Dune Crossing

Set on a grassy Lake Michigan dune, this home needed a way down to the beach that felt at home in the landscape. We built a stairway that zigzags gently down the hillside from the existing deck, with wide landings along the way to stop and take in the view. A built-in bench landing makes the perfect halfway spot, and the trip ends right on the sand.
