Duneside Dream
The scope of work for this project included beach access construction and dune restoration for a newly built home.
The homeowners understood that safe and reliable beach access, along with dune restoration, were essential components of their new home build. To protect the dune and establish vegetation, dune grass and erosion control blankets were installed before the stair construction in order to promote strong root structure and long-term stability.
Lakeshore Customs designed and constructed 70 feet of permanent hybrid stairs using TimberTech decking and wood framing, paired with 30 feet of EZ Beach Steps stairs and landings.
The hybrid design ensures lasting durability, while the removable EZ Beach Steps provides flexibility, allowing the homeowners to adjust or remove the stairs if needed to avoid damage from Lake Michigan’s high water levels.
A unique half-and-half stair design was incorporated, blending permanent and removable components for both durability and adaptability.
